Today’s Nintendo Direct has served up many great announcements on upcoming releases to celebrate our beloved Mario’s 40th anniversary!
Kicking off with the grand reveal of both Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 remastered for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, arriving October 2nd.
We also got a glimpse of the brand-new Mario Tennis Fever coming exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2, as well as Mario Wonder: Switch 2 Edition. Both titles will be arriving in early Spring 2026.
The last big reveal came in the form of Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, a brand-new artistic adventure with Mario’s dinosaur pal in various levels found inside storybook pages. Adding a unique graphical style just like his previous two titles.
Yoshi will also arrive on Nintendo Switch 2 in Spring 2026!
Several other major titles were announced after Mario’s 40th Anniversary Direct. Metroid 4: Beyond, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment, Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream, Fire Emblem, and even the Virtual Boy makes a return!
