Nintendo has scheduled the Mario Kart World Open September 2026 event as a qualifier for the Mario Kart World Fall Cup 2026, a December competition for North American players. The qualifying event will be available in Mario Kart World on Nintendo Switch 2 from September 19 at 2:00 p.m. PT through September 20 at 6:00 p.m. PT.

Participants will need a Nintendo Switch 2 system, Mario Kart World, a Nintendo Account, an internet connection and a Nintendo Switch Online membership. Eligible players in North and South America can receive 50 My Nintendo Platinum Points for participating, with points expected to be claimable through the My Nintendo Missions page on or about September 29, 2026 PT.

The event will run as a 150cc VS Race with no teams, normal items, no COM racers, connected course selection, a 32-race maximum and a 30-second interval. Players can enter through Online Play in Mario Kart World by searching for an event and using Event ID 7943; tournament rules specify eligibility for legal residents of the U.S. including D.C. and Canada ages 13 and older, and Mexico ages 18 and older.
