Nintendo has outlined a broad 40th anniversary program for The Legend of Zelda, with products and events scheduled from 2026 into 2027. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time will launch for Nintendo Switch 2 on Nov. 5, featuring rebuilt visuals, fully voiced cutscenes, expanded dialogue, symphonic orchestral music, updated camera and movement controls, faster load times and other enhancements. A first print run of the physical edition will include special packaging with textured foil cover art while supplies last.

Additional anniversary hardware arrives Oct. 29, including the Nintendo Switch 2 – The Legend of Zelda – 40th Anniversary Edition system, themed Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller options and a Nintendo Switch 2 carrying case with screen protector, all using a Triforce design. Nintendo also announced playable and HORI electric ocarinas due later this year, Young Link and Young Zelda amiibo figures for 2027, and the Mineru’s Construct amiibo for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom on Sept. 17. ZELDA NOTES support for Ocarina of Time will be added through the Nintendo Switch App for compatible smart devices, with features such as adventure tracking, location challenges, a virtual ocarina and a daily quiz with more than 2,000 questions.

The anniversary campaign also includes a global Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Concert series beginning next year, with tours starting in Tokyo in January, Chicago in February, London in April and Melbourne in May. Nintendo Museum in Kyoto will add a special ticket design from Sept. 9, new photo opportunities from Nov. 5 and the Super Family Restaurant in fall 2026, while partner products include the LEGO The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time – Link & Epona set and Hasbro’s Legend of Zelda Electronic Master Sword in spring 2027. A live-action film titled The Legend of Zelda, from Nintendo, Arad Productions Inc. and Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc., is scheduled to open worldwide on April 30, 2027.
